DURATION

The TLI41222 - Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training is a competency-based course, meaning that learner progress is not time based. Therefore, you will progress in this course based on your own commitment and effort, not due to mandatory time restrictions.

This course is comprised of two components: Theory and Practical components. Students can complete their course within 6 months or until competencies are achieved. Your progress will be based on your own personal commitment, so you are more than welcome to finish it earlier.

The way in which we deliver this course has been designed to suit busy schedules and allows for flexibility as you work towards your career goals.

This course will require an initial deposit of $1500. The rest of the balance will be paid just before completion of the course.

ENTRY

 
Step 1:  Enrol in Academy of Road Safety and complete TLI41222 - Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training.

Step 2: Fill out the 'Application for Instructors Licence' form. This can be found HERE.
Step3: Submit the above filled form to The Department of Transport. Bring these documents with you: 
  • Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training  
  • National Police Certificate
  • Character references (if required)
  • Proof of identity documents
  • Application fee
Step 4: Complete a theory and practical assessment 
This is only for applicants that DO NOT possess nationally - recognised qualifications of driver training. TLI41222 is a nationally recognised certificate.
Step 5: Pass medical check-up: Driving instructors
Step 6: If your application is successful then you will need to pay the final licence fee

EQUIPMENT / MATERIALS

No additional study materials are required to be purchased for this course. All required tools and learning materials will be provided to you in our online study platform! 

That way, we ensure that you are completely supported and guided throughout the entire process of learning. If needed, we are also able to deliver a hard copy of the course to you. In the case that you need extra help, online video lectures/tutorials and calls can be arranged.

DELIVERY MODE

A blended delivery method has been used to complete this course. This means that the course has both online and face-to-face learning components, which can be explored in further detail below:

THEORETICAL TRAINING

Our online training modules will be completed through our student portal . You will be able to access all 12 of our theory modules and additional auxiliary study materials that will support you in the completion of your course. We have designed this course to be accessible to our students from anywhere at any time, so that you can truly learn at your own pace and convenience. 

You will be able to track your knowledge growth and skills through our carefully planned assessments and interactive material. 

You are able to learn with flexibility because the assessments are online. Our team of expert assessors will be able to guide you through the course and help you along the way.

PRACTICAL TRAINING

One of our accredited and experienced trainers will be assigned to you and will help you through the Practical Course once the theory component has been completed. The practical training is conducted on road and in-car in a location nearest to your local area. 

This portion of the course is also competency based. It is completely dependent on the amount of knowledge you can gain throughout the course and how willing you are to learn and practice as necessary.

The practical component is made up of one-on-one training (or sometimes group training)plus the assessment. If any of the assessments are failed then additional sessions will be required. The more work you put in the fewer hours you will need with your trainer.
